The Apostle Paul in writing to the Corinthians said, "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift" (II Cor. 9:15). Christian Scientists in every corner of the globe express gratitude to God each day for revealing the "unspeakable gift" of His healing power to Mrs. Eddy, the Leader of the Christian Science movement, that she might share its spiritual bounty with all.

At an early age I was placed in a Christian Science Sunday School by my parents, who were devoted students of this religion. I shall ever be grateful for this Sunday School training, for it was here that I received my first glimpse of the healing truths of Science. It was here that a loving teacher patiently explained to her young listeners the difference between the love of our human parents and the all-absorbing love of our Father-Mother, God, who embraces His ideas forever and hears and answers every call.

In the intervening years, I have witnessed many proofs of God's care in my own experience and in that of my family. Some years ago, while playing baseball, I was hit on the index finger of my left hand by a ball traveling at high speed. At first there was severe pain, but as I firmly kept my thought to the absolute truth of man's perfect state of harmony the pain gradually left. The following morning the finger was completely normal and showed not a trace of the injury.
