Some years ago, when I was divinely led to Christian Science, I was grateful that my little family encouraged me and could see that in a few days I was a changed person as the result of prayerful work being done by a dear practitioner. While I had always lived the right, there was much in my thinking that needed correction, and, above all, I needed to know God as Love, because such knowledge counteracts all thoughts of fear. We read in I John (4:18), "Perfect love casteth out fear," and in Romans (12:2), "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind."

When my dear husband passed on, after we had had fifty-five years of harmonious wedded life, it was only my knowing the truth of God and man that helped me to rise above the belief of death, and I thank God for this knowing as well as for the support of a practitioner. I had the opportunity of proving these words of our revered Leader in Science and Health (p. 186): "The only power of evil is to destroy itself. It can never destroy one iota of good."

I knew that death can never destroy the image and likeness of God, eternal Life. This is the truth which upheld me throughout the experience of the passing of my loved one. It was given to me to know too that in divine Science man is the expression of God's love, which is infinite and eternal, and so the real man, made in the image of Spirit, is eternal. If it were not for the knowledge of these truths, I would not have the wonderful peace of mind and the love for my fellowmen which I do have.
