"WE SHALL NOT ALL SLEEP"

I Corinthians 15:51, 52

"We shall not all sleep,"
We shall not all sigh.
For Love does not dream,
And Life cannot die.

We shall not all wait
In slumber and dust
For trumpets to sound,
For saviors to trust.

The veils of the heart,
The shrouds of the night,
Are lifting on man—
Transfigured in light.

The burden of age,
The passing of youth,
Are lost in the day,
Dissolved in the truth.

There shall be no death,
No doom or decay;
The substance of man
Is not in the clay.

We shall not all go
Through portals of fear,
For gladness is now,
And heaven is here.
