Our Present Demonstration of Infinity

Christian Scientists are not unaware of the great distance between the infinite truths of scientific reality—absolute being—and their limited demonstration of those truths. They are accustomed to using such terms as infinite, inexhaustible, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, eternal, Godlike, divine, universal. But they realize that they have much prayerful work to do before they can lay claim to any great understanding of these concepts.

The Scientists love these concepts and find great joy in realizing that they will eventually prove that man is God's image and dwells in the midst of infinite perfection. Their least demonstrations of the divine truths they glimpse bring freedom to their minds and bodies and release them progressively from spiritual ignorance, which claims to bind men to matter and its limitations.

Like the woman who touched the hem of Christ Jesus' robe, they experience healing and are comforted (see Matt. 9:20-22). Actually, they have broken away in a measure from the finite sense that would deceive them into believing that they are mortals living in a material environment and governed by so-called physical laws.
