On page 1 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we read, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God, —a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." This statement has been proved true to me many times since my introduction to Christian Science.

At that time I thought that by merely reading all the writings of Mrs. Eddy I could absorb the full meaning of Christian Science. However, I soon found that the understanding of Science is infinite and that healing comes through prayerfully living the truths taught in the Bible and our Leader's writings. As we have done this in our home, we have had wonderful proofs of the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

One of the first healings I had was that of a severe intestinal disorder which occurred at the time I was expecting our second child. It suddenly became impossible for me to retain food, and this condition was followed by severe abdominal pains. I asked for the help of a consecrated Christian Science practitioner; and although I did experience relief, the condition persisted.
