I should like to express my very deep gratitude for the happiness, joy, and peace that have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I am especially grateful for the active Christian Scientists and their consecrated work in a Christian Science Society in a small town. Because of their unselfishness, my sisters and I were not deprived of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. I can still vividly see my mother opening the session as Sunday School superintendent, then sitting down to play the hymn on a piano, and then teaching a class.

I am also deeply grateful for the humility and love expressed by my father, who was not a student of Christian Science. He was able to see the good that came from the study of it, and he also recognized our need for a workable religion. He paid for fourteen years of tuition for the three of us at a high school and at a college for children of Scientists.

I had the privilege of attending this college at a time when I had begun to doubt God's healing power during my teen-age years in a public high school. During the four years of college, through the consecrated efforts of my Sunday School teachers, I gradually began to understand the allness of God and the great fact that He is the only power that exists.
