In writing this testimony, I sincerely...

In writing this testimony, I sincerely desire to give Christian Science the entire credit for the many blessings that have come into my experience since I started to study the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It was not for the healing of physical difficulties that I came to Science, but because it appealed to me as a logical religion. As I continued to study, it became apparent to me that my thought was changing in regard to the daily experiences that confronted me. It became natural to turn to God in gratitude for His goodness at the beginning of each day and to give thanks to Him for His guidance in every activity that would glorify Him through service to my fellow men. Work was no longer a toil of weariness and fatigue but a joyous activity.

Soon I was inspired to become a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church. To take part in branch church activities, serving on committees and holding other offices, prepared me for the blessed privilege of class instruction, which unfolded harmoniously for me in every detail and continues to be a constant source of strength in the overcoming of difficulties.

At one time I went into my young son's room to dress him for the day and found him paralyzed from the waist down. A sense of fear overwhelmed me, and I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. With the assurance from her that God is not the author of discord and fear and that the real man's activity comes from God and is therefore constant, I began to realize the allness of God to the extent that a sense of peace displaced the fear. In less than forty-eight hours there was no trace of the paralysis.
