I have had many proofs of God's loving care through the study and application of Christian Science, and I am very grateful for all of them. I am particularly grateful for a healing which I had about two years ago. I was playing in a basketball game two days before the Christmas vacation. Near the end of the game, another player and I jumped for the ball, and she came down on one of my feet with great force. I immediately declared the truth that there are no accidents in divine Mind. Although it was with difficulty, I was able to finish the game.

When it was over and I was on my way to the locker room in great pain, I missed my footing on the stairs and injured my other foot, I silently declared spiritual truths which came to my thought, and I was able to attend all my classes that day. When I reached home that night, I called a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help. Although there were apparently broken bones, I had decided to work it out through prayer in Christian Science without other help.

The practitioner declared many truths of God and man to me, assuring me that because in my true selfhood I am a spiritual idea of God, there is nothing belonging to me which can be broken or injured in any way. The practitioner continued her work during the Christmas vacation.
