For many years Christian Science has been to me and my family a source of comfort and healing. We have often been able to prove that "to those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, Pref., p. vii).

Recently the entire left side of our sixteen-year-old son's body became paralyzed, and his speech was incoherent. We telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, but he could not be reached. Fear gripped my wife and me, and so the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital. The medical diagnosis was subcranial thrombosis, resulting in damage to the brain. Surgery, with the result uncertain, was the immediate recommendation.

At this point, the practitioner was reached, and he advised returning the boy to his home. When we decided to do this, the neurologist and surgeon in attendance retired from the case with dire forebodings. The boy was brought home, without having received any medical treatment.
