Rewarding Results

"This year," writes a librarian, "has brought to our church fulfillment of the promise found in Malachi (3:10): 'Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.'

"For some time our membership had felt the need to do something about our Reading Room, which was located in the church edifice and which left much to be desired. A committee was appointed to investigate all the possibilities and to do special metaphysical work for the Reading Room, the objective being either to move it or refurbish the existing room.

"Shortly, a suitable room in a fine downtown street-floor location became available at a rental we could afford. As soon as the lease was signed, money and gifts began to pour in from members and friends to the extent that not only was the necessary construction and redecorating taken care of, but we were able to completely refurnish the room. The owners of the building were most co-operative. They furnished and installed new lighting fixtures exactly suited to our needs and did many other things to help speed the opening date. The result is a thoroughly up-to-date Reading Room with a beautiful and restful study room, a well-equipped salesroom, and a fine window for display.
