After many years of heartfelt...
After many years of heartfelt gratitude to God for my first healing in Christian Science, I should now like to share it with the readers of our periodicals.
When I was about twelve years old, I fell from my bicycle against the curbing at the edge of the street. My left leg took most of the weight of my fall, and an open sore which developed on it got worse as time went on. After about two years, the doctor said that an operation would be necessary and that part of the bone structure would have to be removed before the leg could possibly heal.
At this time my family knew nothing of the teachings of Christian Science. However, they had some friends who were Christian Scientists and who, they considered, were good, intelligent people except in regard to their religion. The fear that the proposed operation would leave me a cripple was greater than my mother or I had ever anticipated, and in despair she remembered her friends, who in the past had made some fearless statements about the healing power and efficacy of Christian Science treatment.
