"AND AFTER THE FIRE A STILL SMALL VOICE"
I Kings 19:12
Now only this we know:
The presence here,
The warm, sweet glow;
Not any face, nor any name
Proclaims His Person, whence He came,
But Love draws near
To opened heart and thought,
After wind and quake and fire,
When, through purified desire
Dearly bought,
We listen, conscious of His will
Empowering good, not ill,
And evil stripped is seen as naught.
From Elijah's mount we go,
Strengthened to conquer every foe.
