RADIO PROGRAM No. 354 - "Thou hast redeemed my life"
SPEAKER: All through the Bible the thought of God as the Redeemer is strongly emphasized. This is especially true in the Gospels, which record redemption of every kind—physical healings, regeneration of character, and the transformation of lives. This redeeming influence is available today, as our guest's experience illustrates. She can say in the words of the Bible, "Thou hast redeemed my life." I'm going to ask Mrs. Laura Rhame, of Chicago, Illinois, to tell you her experience. How did you learn of Christian Science, Mrs. Rhame?
MRS. RHAME: It was through my little niece. You see my husband and I had had quite a difficult time financially. We'd had to break up our home, and we'd gone to live with my sister. This little niece went with a friend to the Christian Science Sunday School. Then my sister became interested in this religion and began attending church.
One day my sister asked me if I would like to attend the Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I was very much depressed, and at first I didn't think I wanted to. But when evening came, I decided to go with her. Frankly, I can't tell you a hymn that was sung that evening. I can't tell you a word that was read or a testimony that was given. But I felt a great sense of peace, and I knew when I walked out of that church that I had found what I'd always been looking for.
