If ever I am tempted to doubt...
If ever I am tempted to doubt that I am being led by God, I have only to remember that His hand reached far back into my childhood to give me what I would need many, many years later.
Although they were good people, my family never seemed to think about God one way or the other, and it was not felt necessary to send the children to Sunday School. At one time I decided for myself to investigate the various religious beliefs of churches in our neighborhood. After going once or twice to each denomination and failing to find sufficient attraction in any one of them, I gradually stopped attending.
Then when I was about ten or twelve years old I found a Sentinel at a bus stop. What it contained sounded wonderful to me, and I hoped it was true; but I was dissuaded from giving it further attention because one of my relatives said Christian Science was a fanatic religion.
