My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science occurred in 1932. I arrived home from business with a fever. That night I felt too weak to reach for the telephone and ask for the help of a Christian Science practitioner. However, the next morning I telephoned to one.

In the meantime, my sister, having telephoned my place of business and finding that I had not arrived or even telephoned, rushed over to see me. That evening my sister, who is not a Scientist, called a doctor. He examined me and then said that I should go to the hospital at once since a serious condition of the appendix had developed. I thanked him but declined to go. The next morning I again telephoned to the practitioner. I felt some relief, but two nights later I had a relapse. This time I asked the practitioner if she could come and see me. She did, and I had a very quick healing. I was up the next day, and I was back at business two days later.

A recent healing occurred while I was motoring in Mexico. Hearing that a lecture was to be given in Mexico City, I started out a day ahead of time with the idea of spending a night en route at a famous resort. On my arrival at the resort about three o'clock in the afternoon, I immediately went to bed, feeling very ill. I could not read, but I declared every statement of Truth I could recall.
