LOVE ALONE LIBERATES

When faced with a discordant condition or situation that is in need of correction, we often, through lack of spiritual understanding, focus our thought and effort on the discord which must be changed or healed. However, in Christian Science we find that our primary need is not so much for concentration on the elimination of the material condition as for consecration to the gaining of an enlarged understanding of God, divine Love, and the application of this understanding.

Often we find ourselves asking why such a condition has come to us to be worked out or why its solution seems so long delayed. Should we not rather ask how much love our thinking and our actions have been expressing to those in the home, in the office, in the church; how much love we have been really living? It is Love alone that liberates.

We are assured that God is Love, and since the original can express itself only in that which is like itself, we know that God is constantly sending only good to all His children. Nevertheless, we have our part to do if we are to bring love into our everyday experience and find freedom from disease and unhappiness.
