As I look back over the years...

As I look back over the years since I began the study of Christian Science and recall the healings that it has brought to me, I wonder if I can ever begin to express my gratitude for them. One healing in particular has always meant much to me because of the lessons I learned from it.

Before I took up the study of this Science, I suffered from a number of attacks of severe pain and discomfort and finally consulted a physician. He diagnosed the condition as colitis and prescribed medication and diet. Temporary relief followed, but soon the attacks resumed. I then went to another doctor and was told that the condition was the result of nervous indigestion. By this time I had begun to lose faith in these material findings, and more so when, shortly after the last diagnosis, I passed a large kidney stone attended by much pain and discomfort.

About this time I met the young woman who later became my wife. Having recently become interested in Christian Science and having been healed by it, she was able to interest me in taking up the study with her. During the months of our engagement, we spent many hours together studying the Bible and the various writings of Mary Baker Eddy.
