REFLECTING THE GLORY OF GOD

It would probably be safe to say that any person professing Christianity believes in God and accepts the fact of His glory. But what do we actually mean when we speak of the glory of God? It is a phrase which occurs often in the Scriptures. A Bible Concordance gives as one meaning, "the glorious power and goodness of God... manifested."

Each one who believes, however dimly, in the reality of the Supreme Being desires to witness in some measure to His glory, the manifestation of His infinite power and goodness. Through all ages this manifestation has come to strengthen the weak and encourage and aid those who seek divine help in times of danger, sickness, loneliness, or other trials. The glory of God, Spirit, will be evident to all individuals in proportion to the unfoldment of their individual spiritual understanding.

Each idea in God's spiritual creation reflects the divine glory. As we identify ourselves as God's ideas and claim our birthright, we make use of the gift of glory in the service of the Father, following in the footsteps of the Way-shower, Christ Jesus. He was continuously aware of himself as the manifestation of divine glory and witnessed to this fact in his healing mission. So we may reflect the grace and glory of God in daily bringing forth the fruits of the Spirit, which are "goodness and righteousness and truth" (Eph. 5:9).
