"I SEE CHRIST WALK"

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy defines "Christ" as follows (p. 583): "The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh, to destroy incarnate error." The purpose of the Christ is to make known the ever-present power and glory of God, good, evidenced in man's perfection.

Jesus, our Way-shower, was imbued with the Christ. His word, works, and example earned for him the distinctive and unique title, "Jesus the Christ." Christ Jesus exercised spiritual power, for which he claimed no monopoly. He urged all men to walk with him spiritually, to claim the same God-given ability to destroy incarnate error, and to expect perfect results.

Mrs. Eddy was so close to God that, even in tumultuous experiences, she not only saw Christ walk, but she also heard the Christ tenderly speak to her. The assurance of the presence of the Christ comes to us as we understand that God, good, fills all space and constitutes all true consciousness. When we do understand this truth, we too may echo our Leader's triumphant words (Poems, p. 12),
