I wish to express my gratitude for a healing made possible by the help of a Christian Science practitioner and the willingness on my part to trust in God implicitly.

I was working under my car filing a metal strap, and bits of metal fell on my face. One such bit fell into my eye and became lodged there. Although some discomfort was felt, I nevertheless went to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist, that evening. I knew that there could be only one outcome to the problem, for in Christian Science I had learned that Mind, God, is revealed as omniactive and as caring for its own. After the meeting I telephoned for help from a practitioner.

Following a good night's sleep, I awoke with the eye looking normal, but the metal was still in it. About eleven o'clock in the morning, however, there was a little twitch of the eye, and the metal particle fell out. It was with a great deal of gratitude that I was able to stand up at the next Wednesday meeting and give a testimony of this healing. The work had been well done by the practitioner, and I had prayed for a receptive state of consciousness. "The scientific statement of being," on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy helped me greatly at this particular time. Also of help were the definitions of substance and intelligence on pages 468 and 469 respectively.
