I should like to tell some of the many blessings Christian Science has brought into my life. In 1948 one of my legs became very swollen and painful, so much so that it was hard for me to use it. I called a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given, and the leg opened in several places and drained. Thanks to the consecrated work of the practitioner, this healing has been permanent.

Through my own understanding another healing came about a little over two years ago. When I lay on my left side I would begin to lose consciousness. One evening these words came to me as if they were being spoken aloud: "What are you going to do about it? Are you going to let error handle you?" Then I realized that the condition had no power, as God is the only power. I worked for some time to know the unreality of the difficulty; then I resolutely lay on my left side. The condition returned with more fury than ever, but I kept on declaring that God is eternal Life and that, as His perfect spiritual idea, I reflected that Life.

In spite of my statements of truth I felt that I was about to be overcome, and fear crept into my thoughts. Then I prayed, "Father-Mother God, help me." Instantly the words came (Isa.41:10), "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." I also repeated "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Finally I gained relief and went to sleep. The next night the condition came again, but I was not afraid, for I knew that I had overcome it the night before. This time it did not last as long. The third night it came again but was overcome in only a few minutes. It has not occurred since.
