OUR SPIRITUAL AND METAPHYSICAL RESPONSIBILITY

The observation is frequently made by those who are not members of the Church of Christ, Scientist, that Christian Scientists appear to be a happy people, and this they truly are. This fact later often leads the observer to seek and find the source of and the reason for the joy and peace which characterize those who have learned something of the Science of true being and are demonstrating this Science in their lives. When one has been healed of chronic invalidism or has had the visible evidence of the omnipresent Christ in a restoration to a useful and active life when hope for the future had seemed dark and uncertain, it is not surprising that such a one not only is imbued with a deep and positive appreciation of what Christian Science represents, but also has an honest and loving desire to give to others the same blessings that Christian Science has brought to him.

It is the understanding and appreciation of what the Christ has meant in their lives that finds expression in the healing works of Christian Scientists in all parts of the world and prompts their desire to continuously contribute toward the progress of the Cause of Christian Science.

The Mother Church and its branches offer the willing worker constant unfolding opportunity to serve; and this service, witnessed in spiritual accomplishment, expands in proportion to one's spiritual growth. True Christian service is giving—the giving forth of the Christ by reflection and in demonstration.
