My heart is filled with gratitude...

My heart is filled with gratitude to God for the countless blessings that I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science over twenty-five years ago.

When I had been married a very short time, I suffered from a severe nervous breakdown. I was in a hospital for nervous diseases for six weeks, but at the end of that time I was no better, but rather worse. My father-in-law, who was a doctor, asked me if I was prepared to try anything in order to be healed, and I said I certainly was; so he took me to a Christian Science practitioner. Her love was unbounded, and so simply did she present the truth to me that in a very short time the depression lifted, all nagging, fearful thoughts were dispelled, and the nervous condition was completely healed.

During the time that I was in the hospital I was told that women in my condition never have children; but I am grateful to say that we have had a son and twin girls, all born with the help of Christian Science treatment. Having known of Christian Science for only a few months before the birth of our son, I did not contemplate having metaphysical treatment, but thought I would have to have a doctor attend me. However, the thought came to me one day that I could use what little understanding I had gained of Christian Science. I decided to go forward and engaged a practitioner and a Christian Science nurse. Their help was readily and lovingly given, and I know it saved our baby.
