NO UNWANTED MAN

Sometimes the heartsick long to know if Christian Science can do anything for the person who never seems to be wanted anywhere. And with what joy Christian Scientists can answer that through the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy they understand Paul's statement (Rom.8:16, 17), "We are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ."

Christian Science teaches us to turn away from the false material sense of existence to the eternal truth regarding God and His idea, man. This man, created to witness the glory and spontaneity of Soul, beloved and cherished by his Father-Mother God, can never be useless or unwanted. This forever fact is daily being demonstrated in Christian Science.

Perhaps someone may say, "What about the unwanted mortal?" But in reality there is none. Mortal mind is always claiming that it is a creator. Under this pretense it claims that it wants, or it does not want, that which it creates. Christian Science teaches us to annul all of mortal mind's claims, for mortal mind is powerless. It has no place in man and makes no conditions for him. Just as a mistake in mathematics never touches the truth of mathematics, so the belief of being a mortal never touches the true spiritual man.
