During the past several years I have had many proofs of God's protecting care and of the healing power of Truth. When our oldest boy was about seven years old he was playing with several other children on a heavy metal car trailer. While some of the children stayed on the trailer our child got underneath to see what it looked like there, and the shifting weight of the children on the trailer caused it to overbalance and press a heavy piece of metal into the back of the child's neck, causing an ugly wound.

The father of one of the children was a doctor, who happened to be making a call next door. At the request of his child he came over and insisted upon looking at the wound and cleansing it. He made unfavorable comments about the extent of the wound and its severity and said it would be long in healing.

Because my husband is not a Christian Scientist, the doctor's predictions seemed ominous to him. As soon as the doctor left the house I called a practitioner, and together we reversed the false material claims, knowing that since God's law of perfection is the only law that has any power, in reality there has never been an accident and that spiritual man remains forever perfect, whole, untouched by any mortal condition. Through the consecrated work of the practitioner the child was up and playing with no discomfort within two days, and his neck was soon well.
