In gratitude to God I should like...

In gratitude to God I should like to be one of the thousands who give their testimonies in our periodicals. I have had much help through Christian Science in conquering diseases and other forms of error. At this time I wish to tell of my glorious healing of the need for glasses, which I had used for many years when reading and sewing.

My sister had introduced me to Christian Science, for which I was very grateful; and I wished to show my gratitude by practicing what I had learned through reading Mrs. Eddy's textbook, Science and Health. On being elected First Reader in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and thinking of my place on the platform, I asked myself, "Would I be loving and honoring God and be a credit to Mrs. Eddy's teachings, standing there with my glasses on?" From then on I tried every day to see myself as God's perfect child, from whom nothing could be taken. I began to realize that there could not be any power or intelligence in material eyes; so my seeing must come directly from God, "the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" (James 1:17). Every day I worked in that way, and when the time for my service as Reader came I could read even small print without glasses. I have not used them since that time, more than eleven years ago.

I am most humbly grateful for this proof of God's might and love and for Mrs. Eddy's great work, Science and Health, which is truly a key to the Scriptures through which we learn to know God and man. There are still many things to clear out of my consciousness, but I know that everlasting, almighty Love is my help every day and every moment.—(Miss) Karna Lundgren, Gothenburg, Sweden.
