Barnet, Hertfordshire
England (First Church).
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Barnet, was dedicated at the services on Sunday [July 13], when the First Reader gave a brief history of the church. It was in April, 1917, that a group of students of Christian Science met in a house in Fitzjohn Avenue, Barnet, and held their first service. They continued to meet in private houses until January, 1919, when a room in the old Tilbury's Rooms, Barnet, was rented and the services were opened to the public....
A Sunday School was opened in [1923].... In December, 1926, the group was granted recognition as a society by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
