Thirty years ago Christian Science was first brought to my attention, apparently in answer to my daily prayer for help in overcoming a very distressing stomach disorder. I could neither eat nor sleep normally for a period of almost seven years. Many physicians had given up my case, saying that it was hopeless. However, when the brilliant rays of Truth were thrown upon it, the error dissolved. The healing took about six months for its accomplishment and has been permanent. During this experience my constant thought each day was, "God is Love, and Love is present every step of the way."

When I was eleven years old, my mother gave me a Bible for my birthday with the request that I read it every day. I promised that I would, and did, with the result that I was very much impressed by the mention of the Comforter in the fourteenth chapter of John and remembered it when I became ill. I knew that somehow and in some way the Comforter would come to me, and it has in Christian Science.

When my mother and sister saw what Christian Science was doing for me, they too accepted it and were healed. My mother was healed in three months of a nervous breakdown after being helpless for three years. My sister was healed in one treatment of paralysis of her arm.
