"As the children of Israel were guided triumphantly through the Red Sea, the dark ebbing and flowing tides of human fear,—as they were led through the wilderness, walking wearily through the great desert of human hopes, and anticipating the promised joy,—so shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires in their passage from sense to Soul, from a material sense of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for them who love God." Thus writes Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 566).

From a childhood and an early womanhood of sickness and hopelessness I was led, through Christian Science, to a normal, healthy, and useful life.

When I married and had a small son, I was too weak to care for our home and child. I had had medical help through the years, but I was no better, and my constant prayer was to know God. At a time when we were looking for a dwelling place we found an apartment, the manager of which was a student of Christian Science. Seeing my need, she lovingly told me of Christian Science and said that she knew I could be healed. I was confined to bed most of the time. At my request this new friend called a practitioner for me, and after listening to many beautiful truths of Christian Science, I arose the same day and began to carry on my household duties. Extreme nervousness and constipation were conditions which I had had as long as I could remember; the latter condition was healed at once. The nervousness disappeared also, and I have led a very active life ever since.
