CHALLENGE TO ASTROLOGY

I am a child of the King who rules the stars
In ordered paths throughout the realm of Mind,
Nor looses this control to give them sway
Over His prime creation, Godlike man.

I am a child of the King, not born to walk
Bound by the beams of any narrow star
That pricked the sky when this earth dream began.
No wizard's sign predicts, no horoscope
Measures my health or hinders my success.

I am a child of the King whose kindling Word
Made last Arcturus and, to heal our night,
Sped on its way the star of Bethlehem.

I am His son, His likeness, His idea,
Dominion, not subjection, my estate;
And that true selfhood, which we seek to know,
Bows to no astral influence, but resides
Safe in a secret place, hid well with Christ,
Itself a radiant and untrammeled light.

Uncharted is God's heaven; no zodiac
Usurps the power of Mind to outline good
Or limits man, whose scope is infinite,
Subject alone to Love's unerring rod.

I am a child of the King who rules the stars—
I am the child of God.
