BUSINESS FROM THE SPIRITUAL STANDPOINT
It may be asked what Christian Science has to reveal of the true aspects of business such as agency work, and how we are to think correctly of such work, that the truth may be known and its resultant freedom experienced, as Jesus promised.
In order to reason correctly according to Christian Science, every aspect must be viewed from the spiritual standpoint, and every activity must be lifted out of the realm of matter and the kingdom of this world into the kingdom of heaven. One's work must be released from the limited bounds imposed by belief in a material man and physical labor into the glorious freedom of Science, where one knows only spiritual man and his rewarding, harmonious reflection of his Maker —the only work that God has given to man in His image and likeness.
With the spiritual fact habitually before one's thought it is easy to detect any phase of experience which does not measure up to the perfection which God ordained when He created everything "very good." Imperfection of any name or nature, person, place, or thing, becomes a lie—the reverse of the spiritual truth, which Christian Science reveals. Even humanly speaking, one rejects a lie spontaneously when one is aware that it is a lie, relegating it to its native nothingness. because whatever a lie claims, has never happened. So in Christian Science when imperfection seems to be present and operative one rejects it because he has learned through consecrated study of the Scriptures and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that perfection alone is the reality of being.
