Stand for Truth taken; appendicitis healed

It is with sincere and heartfelt gratitude that I humbly submit the following testimony of the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science.

Whilst engaged in teaching in a large primary school, I was taken suddenly ill one Thursday with all the symptoms of appendicitis. At the close of the school session a kind colleague, an earnest student of Christian Science, took me home in her car, having first telephoned for help from a Christian Science practitioner chosen by me. This help was promptly and most lovingly given. My physical condition did not appear to improve, yet I felt through it all that I was secure in God's keeping.

The person with whom I was residing at this time was not interested in Christian Science, and the following Sunday morning as I sat up in bed studying the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly for the week, she came to my bedside and said that she would have to send for a doctor, since she was really alarmed at my physical condition. I told her that if a doctor should come, I could only submit to a diagnosis, for I was already having Christian Science treatment and I desired no other. As soon as I had taken this stand for absolute reliance on God, a knock was heard at the front door, and in came a friend who brought the glad news that arrangements had been made for me to enter a Christian Science House. This I recognized as a direct answer to prayer.
