BORN OF THE SPIRIT

The man of God's creating has no material birth and no death. He is conceived in Mind as idea and born of the Spirit. He has neither beginning nor end, for he has always existed in God.

The synonyms Mrs. Eddy uses for God—Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth, Love—show forth different aspects of His nature, but refer to one perfect Father–Mother, one cause and creator, man's only Parent and antecedent.

The man whom God creates, inherits and embodies the qualities of his Father–Mother God. He is governed by Principle, acting through perfect, omnipotent divine law. Understanding this truth, we annul the so-called laws of matter and experience man's God-given dominion. As the son of Soul, man reflects serenity, steadfastness, tranquillity, beauty, poise, and grace. As the offspring of Spirit, man's conception is unconfined. He is forever conscious that his substance is spiritual, and that he lives and moves and has his being in the realm of infinity. Man expresses Life in spiritual activity. Life is immutable and eternal; therefore man's life is changeless, ageless, deathless. He is the idea of Truth, reflecting truthfulness, integrity, and uprightness.
