Poem from periodicals helps in healing

It is with a grateful heart that I wish to share some of the healings we have experienced in our family since we took up the study of Christian Science thirteen years ago.

When our eldest son was fifteen years old, he suffered a severe ear infection which developed into mastoid trouble. He was beautifully and permanently healed in Science after a doctor had said that only an operation could save his life. We held to the truth that there is only one operation, the operation of divine Mind, and that man, being coexistent with that Mind, can come only under the operation of spiritual law, which restores health, harmony, and peace. This son served his country for five years without injury. He served in the European area, crossing the North Atlantic during the height of the submarine warfare. His ship was bombed in Indian waters, and he was in the Okinawa invasion. He was honorably discharged and has made a fine adjustment to civilian life. We give God the glory.

Our younger daughter, after being thrown from a horse, was healed in two treatments of what appeared to be concussion of the brain. We held to the truth stated by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 424), "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony," and to the fact that man has never fallen, but is intact, harmonious, and free.
