Correct reasoning aids one in gaining revelation of God's perfect law
THE TRUE PHILOSOPHY
Can one reason his way out of the inconsistencies of mortal theories through the study of Christian Science? Yes. Reason based on the pure truths of the Christteaching aids one in gaining a spiritual revelation of God's perfect law of Life. The conscientious seeker for Truth soon discovers that the spiritual basis from which he reasons is a vital factor in his progress Spiritward. He finds that if his reasoning is based on materiality, he continues to reason erroneously and inevitably concludes with a false concept of God and His creation. man and the universe.
Christian Science establishes in thought the true concept of God as the only Mind and of man as the image and likeness of this one eternal and infinite Mind. It reveals spiritual being, absolute and infallible. Its declaration of perfect God and perfect man is the premise from which reason must proceed if the false theories of mortal mind are to be overcome.
True philosophy admits of neither deviation nor inconsistency. The scientific, right thought is manifested in harmony and order. Unless the question regarding true being is answered correctly, rather than being shunted aside as an unknowable phenomenon, mankind's problems are not solved. On pages 21 and 22 of "No and Yes" Mary Baker Eddy writes: "Divine philosophy is demonstrably the true idea of the Christ, wherein Principle heals and saves. A philosophy which cannot heal the sick has little resemblance to Science, and is, to say the least, like a cloud without rain, 'driven about by every wind of doctrine.' Such philosophy has certainly not touched the hem of the Christ garment." The history of mankind shows that true philosophy, which heals and saves, stems from the pure teachings of Jesus.
