Baby healed instantly when the truth is declared

Through the loving guidance of my aunt I was taught the Bible stories from the time I was a young child. She told them in such a way that they were always real to me and made me want to know God better. As far back as I can remember, God was always someone to be loved and trusted, and as I grew older I felt a great yearning to know more of Him.

My first healing through Christian Science came before I knew anything about its teaching. I was living with an earnest student of this Science, several thousand miles from my home, when my hand became infected. It grew worse daily. Finally I went to a doctor, who said that blood poisoning had set in. He treated the hand and bandaged it, asking me to call him any hour of the day or night that I might need him. I went to my room despondent and tearful. Later I told the Christian Scientist what the doctor had said. I can remember the expression on her face. It was neither dismay nor doubt, but complete confidence that all was well. I retired early and was lying in bed awake when a great sense of peace flooded my consciousness, a peace that said all was well. From that time on, my hand bothered me no more. The next morning I went to church and had a normal and happy day. I knew then, as I know today, that this Christian Scientist was knowing the truths which concerned her household.

After that I became interested in Science. Two years later I became an earnest student, and this truth has blessed me and my family in more ways than I can express. Our three children have been in the Christian Science Sunday School since they were three years old, and they have never had any medicine.
