Over thirty years ago I sent a testimony to the Sentinel. It related healings of indigestion, believed to be hereditary, influenza, and several other ills, including a complete moral uplift—the overcoming of the liquor and tobacco habits, gambling, profanity, and careless, worldly living. These things just fell away from me when I found through Christian Science my true selfhood as a child of God.

During the years since then I have had many more healings, some of which I should like to mention. A number of years ago I was troubled severely with rheumatism in my shoulders. When I drove home from work, every jar of the car gave me great pain. I spent the evening studying to help myself and then retired. In the morning it took me about ten minutes to get out of bed, the difficulty seemed so pronounced. I read the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly. The Golden Text was from Isaiah 41:10. In pondering that text in the light of Christian Science, I was completely healed. I got up without any discomfort, had breakfast, and went to work free and grateful.

At another time I was finishing an important office in a branch church when I was taken with difficulty in breathing. The condition continued for a few days. One night I awoke after a short sleep, unable to breathe. I managed to get into another room, taking the telephone with me so as not to disturb the family. I called the practitioner who was helping me and with great difficulty explained the case. I managed to tell him that I was not afraid, and he said he would help me. I tried to read from our textbook, but it seemed all I could do to force a breath. In less than twenty minutes I called back and told the practitioner I was free. I stayed up for fully an hour rejoicing and praising God for the blessing of Christian Science.
