ONLY THE GOOD IS TRUE

"It's too good to be true!" This fervent, half-prayerful remark was made by a soldier at the front when orders came ending hostilities. When it was related to the writer, he recalled very vividly that from the earliest days of his childhood, when those about him learned of some good fortune, the news was frequently greeted with the remark quoted above.

When we doubt man's God-derived heritage of good, we accept the pantheistic theory that God made both good and evil. Christian Science exposes the falsity of this belief by revealing that evil has no reality, since it is not created by God. Good alone is true because God, good, is All-in-all.

In the Biblical account of creation we read (Gen. 1:1,27): "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ... So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him." These passages set forth the spiritual origin of the universe and of man in God's likeness. The Scripture further relates that this perfect spiritual creation was complete, and it adds (Gen. 1:31), "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."
