I LET HIM LEAD
I wandered
into thickening mists of sense,
Where all paths were obscured, and much afraid
I stood in helplessness until I prayed,
Acknowledging my own incompetence
With willingness to let the Father lead.
The mists still clung, but calmly now I stood
In confidence that God was there and would
Direct my steps, should I but humbly heed
And follow Him. It was enough to see
One footstep at a time show from the gray;
Content was I to let Him lead the way
From out the mists that had so blinded me.
And as thanks bore me free from doubt and fear
The mists dispersed and left my pathway clear.
