Notice
The Literature Distribution Committee of the Literature Activities Department of The Mother Church is continuing to assist branch churches and societies which are endeavoring to complete reference libraries in their Reading Rooms. The Committee can supply missing numbers needed to complete volumes partially assembled, as well as entire volumes of The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel. When writing to the Literature Distribution Committee, churches and societies are requested to list their needs according to volume and number. There is no charge for this used, unbound literature which the Committee supplies.
To assist in this good work, the Literature Distribution Committee of The Mother Church is always glad to receive from branch churches, societies, and individuals, any copies of The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel published prior to 1923. However, before sending any copies of the Journal or Sentinel published after 1922, please communicate with the Literature Distribution Committee.
There is, of course, no regulation requiring branch churches and societies to keep a complete reference library of our periodicals in their Reading Rooms, and the advisability of doing so is a question for each branch to decide for itself.
Please address communications to:

Humanity Needs the Open Heart and Friendly Support of the Church
Recently one of our members wrote: "Closer affiliation with the beloved Cause of Christian Science through the tender, wise, and watchful provisions of our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, is Christ's way up and out of human want and woe." Men and women, and children who have arrived at the age of twelve years, may apply for membership if they believe in the doctrines of Christian Science presented in its platform and teaching found in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
Twice each year applicants are admitted to membership by The Christian Science Board of Directors (see Manual, Art. XIII, Sect. 2). Applications to be considered for the next admission must reach the Clerk not later than September 29, 1947. The admission date is November 7, 1947. If those who wish to take this step will forward their applications as early as possible rather than wait until near the closing date, it will greatly facilitate the work in the Clerk's office. Approvers are responsible for the accuracy of the applications and for securing the necessary countersignatures. An Instruction Folder which explains simply and thoroughly all that is required in applying for membership accompanies each application. Please give special attention to the paragraph on page 2 entitled "Form 2."
Application blanks for membership in The Mother Church may be obtained from practitioners listed in The Christian Science Journal, from clerks of branch churches and societies, or at the Reading Rooms. Applications may also be obtained from Cordon V. Comer, Clerk. 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
