Since I have been a student of...
Since I have been a student of Christian Science I have had many proofs of its healing power, in the case of both physical disorder and other discordant conditions. I should like to relate two of my first healings.
During the first World War I was wounded in the leg. At that time I did not know of Christian Science and was under medical treatment. Although I could walk, something was wrong, for from time to time the leg became inflamed. The physicians on whom I called for help did their best to heal it. I went through several operations without success.
In the meantime a friend told me about Christian Science, and when the inflammation came again I asked a practitioner for help. The same evening that help was given the wound opened to discharge and in a few days closed up again. This time I went on with my daily activities without interruption, for the first time. I was permanently healed in that treatment. I am indeed very grateful for this healing. At the same time I was healed of the smoking habit, although no specific work was done. The practitioner did not even know that I smoked. This healing was outstanding to me, since I had desired for some time to give up smoking. I had tried to do it by will power, but had not succeeded.
