Concerning Christian Science Wartime and Postwar Activities

[From a Christian Scientist in Japan]

I want to express my very deep gratitude for your loving work, which has brought joy, help, and encouragement to us all. ... These food parcels not only help us have good meals, but bring messages of the love that is so needed here.

You will rejoice with us to know that a Christian Science Society has been formed in—, Japan, and that we have started a Sunday School with fourteen children, eight of whom are Japanese. Most of these Japanese children know little or no English, but they will learn it as they go along, we feel, since the inspired words of Mrs. Eddy can only be fully understood through the original language. ... It is interesting to watch these children, because this is the way we started. Of the eleven Sunday School children of my day, three of us are teaching in this new Sunday School.
