I wish to express gratitude to...

I wish to express gratitude to God, the Giver of all that is good, to Christ Jesus, and to our beloved Leader for Christian Science, the pearl of great price. I did not come into Science for a healing. I was invited by a friend to accompany her to church. Asking what church, I was told the Christian Science church. I knew nothing of this religion, but accepted her invitation. In this first service there was so much love, joy, peace, and orderliness expressed that I never desired to go back to my old church. That was twenty-four years ago.

Since then, I have had many healings through the realization and demonstration of the truths that are taught by Christian Science. Among conditions healed are chronic colds, ulcerated teeth, constipation that had lasted over a period of seven years, ptomaine poisoning on two occasions, heart trouble, and dropsy in its worst form. The last-mentioned trouble continued for about nine months. During this time a sister in a nearby city was told of my condition, and she came immediately and insisted on my husband's calling a doctor at once. I took a firm stand that night, saying that I was relying entirely on the healing power of Christian Science. From that night the healing began. That was in February, and the third week in April I visited this sister, completely healed. That was more than twelve years ago, and the healing has been permanent.

A few years ago I was struck by a bus and carried to a hospital where I lay unconscious for four and a half hours. When I regained consciousness, stitches had been taken in my leg and my forehead. I immediately began to know that God is my Life. I realized that those about me were saying "accident," and I declared aloud that accidents are not known to God. Then someone said. "She is a Christian Scientist." I asked them to send for my husband, and requested him to call a practitioner. He did so and work was begun immediately. That night nurses took my temperature and blood pressure every hour. Being unable to sleep. I prayed all night.
