Concerning Christian Science Wartime and Postwar Activities

Your package to me dated September 26 was very much appreciated. I received a letter from my niece in Cologne, Germany, who was delighted with having received a package from your committee, in August, and still a second one six weeks later. She wrote, "It is the first ray of light after many months."

I cannot tell you how glad I was to know that your loving activities are so widespread, and there is no place where the light does not shine.

How much selfless love is standing behind these gifts! If one, as I at present, has not the privilege to live in a place where he can join in branch church activities, and is struggling with what seems to be a serious problem of supply, these packages are reassuring him that he is not separated from friends and love. ...
