To Simplify Is to Purify

Simple, pure, humble, sincere. How clear and direct are these unaffected little words, how unadorned, how straightforward, how free from intricacy!

Simple, pure, humble, sincere— here are words that aptly describe many of the early demonstrators of God's power: David, the simple shepherd boy; Daniel, distinguished for the purity of his thinking; Moses, humble prophet of the people; the three Hebrew youths whose sincere conviction of God's protecting power saved them from the fiery furnace; and many others.

The master Christian, Christ Jesus, healed in humble homes and along the roadside, and taught in ways that were simple and pure. The same simplicity and purity of purpose motivated the efforts of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in her healing and regenerating work as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
