"All of us working together"

Peace, permanent peace, must come on earth. Peace is a prerequisite to the coming of God's heaven. No amount of willful contention or fearful fomenting among mortals can indefinitely delay its appearing. Each of us— you and I—can do much to aid in establishing and protecting world peace.

Why is it difficult for the human race to attain what most men desire—assured peace? Because of the fear, hate, suspicion, pride, and self-will in human thinking which are evidenced in the words and acts of the nations' peoples and so in their representatives.

How can these negative mental thought forces which lead to the barbarity of war be nullified? The attitude of mind which you and I entertain is a vitally important factor in accomplishing this result. Are we through indifference or fear concurring in the claim of evil, mortal mind, that it can rule the thoughts, acts, judgments of men and nations? Are we believing there is little or nothing we can do to combat the thoughts that produce misunderstanding, ill will, and war? Or do we understand something of the power of the Word of deific Mind to silence these lies of evil, but are too apathetic or too busily engaged in our human affairs to give time and thought to invoke God's power to thwart and defeat evil?
