The Prodigal's Promise
Much
I spend in mortal thought,
When all I should invest in Thee.
Matter's fleeting treasures caught
Reveal their unreality.
But when I turn to Judah's land,
Rock of ages strengthens me.
Eternal Truth is near at hand;
Knowing it, I shall be free.
Proven is the Scripture word,
Husks and wasting lose their charms;
Confident my cry is heard—
Father waits with open arms.
Now I feast on substance real,
Living in my true estate,
No regret is left to heal,
All is Life to demonstrate.
Life, Truth, and Love will bless mankind,
As meekly they true sonship find.
