I did not come to Christian Science for any physical healing. As to the material, mortal sense of life, it included abundantly everything necessary for my existence, but with it all there seemed to be a tremendous vacuum. I was continually looking to person or place for something.

One day, in the midst of this emptiness, I picked up a Christian Science Hymnal, and the words of Hymn No. 224,
