This testimony is given to express in some measure my great gratitude for the many blessings that my family and I have had through the study and application of Christian Science over a period of twenty years.

My introduction to Christian Science came when I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. While I was not greatly impressed at the moment with the testimonies, the seed of Truth was sown. A few mornings later I awoke with a very stiff neck, shoulder, and back—a condition that had presented itself at frequent intervals ever since the birth of our twin babies eleven months before. The prospect of caring for those two babies and two other active little girls, both under six years of age, was not a happy one, and as I stood by my bedroom window dreading the hours of pain ahead of me, my thought turned to that Wednesday evening meeting.

I recalled one by one the testimonies that had been given, and suddenly it dawned on me that each of the speakers had attributed his healing to the power of God—a fact that had not occurred to me before. This was indeed a revelation! The power of God was available for healing! As I turned away quickly from the window I found to my utter amazement that there was not a vestige of pain or stiffness in my body, and from that day to this I have never had a stiff neck or lameness of the back and shoulders. I was eager to learn more of this religion, and soon purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I read for several months before I really took up the study of it.
