Protection
(Psalm 27)
I shall
not fear. The Lord is my salvation;
He is my strength and light in all my ways.
Though enemies may threaten desolation,
My heart is confident through troubled days.
I separate myself from things that perish,
And in His temple, fashioned by His hand,
I dwell in His pavilion while I cherish
The beauty of this place wherein I stand.
He hears my cry, and He will not forsake me;
He lifts my thoughts by His consummate grace
Above the hosts who seek to overtake me,
And I rejoice to see Him face to face.
I know the goodness of the Lord is giving
Fresh courage to my heart to rout despair;
And in the realm where Love inspires true living,
I wait on Him, protected by His care.
